Helping Hands of Georgetown was just given an opportunity to get on the fundraising band wagon.
A regular supporter of theirs offered a challenge…his family will match all funds raised by year’s end, up to $20,000. Director Bob Weimer is asking all supporters to help fundraise since they were forced to cancel their annual fundraiser due to COVID.
Any amount will help!
COVID has created an even greater need and the Caring Place is unable to accept food donations, so they are referring folks to Helping Hands as well.
A quick recap of what they have done so far in 2020:
Helping Hands of Georgetown
Georgetown Area Republican Women recently donated copies of Merriam Webster’s Dictionary for Children, Webster’s Spanish-English Dictionary for Students, and copies of the U.S. Constitution to area elementary or intermediate schools. Each school’s library also received two books about American History. Schools receiving the donations were Naomi Pasemann Elementary in Taylor, Florence Elementary, Granger Elementary, and Jarrell Intermediate. Pictured are Donna Griffis, Librarian at Granger Elementary and Phyllis Graves, Literacy Chair for GARW.
